Key to My Heart Pendant,  # B121567
Sun. & Mon. June 3 & 4, 2012 (9:00a-5:30p)

This irresistible metal clay flip-style pendant is fun to wear and draws lots of attention. The first “page” features a peek-a-boo lock design, the second is double-sided with words of love on one side and a vintage lace texture on the other. Akin to a modern-day locket, a hidden photograph encased in resin is the wonderful surprise on the third “page”. There are an array of techniques covered over the course of this two day workshop: syringe walls, sawing greenware, rainbow patinas and curing resin with hand-rolled hinges as the main technique. You’ll be able to mix-and-match pages easily to change the look of this endearing pendant. Bring your own photograph to personalize your piece. Must have previous metal clay experience.

Flourish, # B121563
Tue. June 5, 2012 (9:00a-5:30p)

Fine silver wire marries beautifully with metal clay, and in this bracelet they are actually fired together to bond. Students will begin by braiding multiple bundles together on a foam disk. This easy wire kumihimo band will then become the foundation for the sculptural metal clay leaves and lily that naturally transition into the clasp. No marudai or kumihimo experience required. Pieces will be fired after class and returned the next day.

Caps, Clasps and Cones,  # B121565
Wed. June 6, 2012 (8:00a-3:00p)

InsDecorative ends are the perfect way to customize your unique jewelry creations. In this class you will create a pair of fine silver cones and a pair of bold caps that incorporate many techniques including shaping, forming, extruding and dry assembly. You will also make a matching textured S-hook clasp. These special caps would be perfect to finish off a bead crochet or kumihimo rope. Pre-requisite: Intro to ACS and 6 hours of ACS experience. Materials list.

Roswell Bracelet,  # B121568
Thu. June 7, 2012 (8:30a-3:30p)
These colorful saucers are lined up and look as if they are hovering around your wrist. These fun 3-D elements illustrate many techniques including: double-sided texturing, drying over forms, dry assembly, and drilling dry clay. After the components are fired they will be polished so they are ready for a rainbow patina only on the inside of the disks. The last step is assembling the bracelet with a magnetic disk clasp and copper chain which almost disappears as you wear it. Previous metal clay experience required.
